Sir Vawn's Notes

Summary of Everything we know about Bouquet’s situation.
Last updated 2/10/05
From Sir Vawn of Eagle’s Rook

(Keeping in mind that there is unquestionably more information that’s know to the hero of the Realms that I either haven’t had an opportunity to collect or that is not being shared)

Most of this information gained second hand though I paraphrased a lot). Please let me know if there’s anything you disagree with or know to be wrong.
There is a lot of information here, and good amount of it are guesses. Take everything with a grain of salt.

Dahal and Malyne cast some divination regarding Bouquet at my request a few weeks past, I will summarize what we were able to find out and share it as briefly as I am able. Dahal, Malyne, feel free to add anything you see as relevant. I’ve tried to avoid guessing what the different answer mean for the most part 9’’cept the part about Zeek since Zeek was there and I just asked him).
Note: There is some concern regarding the validity of divinations give the Fae’s tendency to interfere in matter that affect them. Given that the open of Bedlam would, in theory, release all within, not just Bouquet, it’s possible that our efforts to free her might fall into the category of affecting them and that some misdirection of divinations is possible.

Q1- Where would I find the spirit of Bounguet (specifically ID’d her by using one of her possessions)?
A1- Nowhere in existence as you know it.
Note:- This was asked to try and confirm if Bouquet was actually in Bedlam or on the brink of it as had been suggested. It would seem she is in Bedlam, but the “tether” between her and the Zeek and her and Nero are keeping her from becoming “lost”in Bedlam.

Q2- How do we retrieve Bouquet’s spirit (again, using the item to ID her).
A2- In response to this, the Bedlam Song was heard.

Q3- Vision with the same basic question - how do we retrieve Bonquet?
A3- Vision was of the moon in a pool/puddle. The moon was distorted because of a coin which was flipped in the air and landed in the pool (causing ripples and such). When the pool settled the coin was in the center of the moon.

Q4- Is the song a serie of steps what will needed to be taken to retrieve the person we spoke of
A4-(done via tarot cards) Showed emotions masked by action. We got impression that it speaks of materials we will need and action that must be taken.

Q5- what are the perspectives in the song?
A5- (again with tarot card) There are 4 perspectives. This answer was given to use in a particular layout of cards.

Perspective 1- The Prince of Wands. A man of magic, People recognize him as the origin of the song we know it. But something is different, wrong. He represent the past.
Another car represent the same mystical man, but from the future. There needs to be interaction with this man. His perspective is one of the song.

Perspective 2- The great power- Immediate past. Strong emotion, going far back and framing the current situation. Representing the sun, or a different version of the sun. also some recent referencing to Zeek- possible this might reference Zeek’s retrieving CuCullain’s Steel.

Perspective 3- the hero- need to do something. Phoenix (the card) represented another chance at life. Looking at Immediate future/action.

Perspective 4- The warning- came from the same cards as The Hero, but indicates a strong possibility of harm and was identified as a separate perspective.

Nero’s original identification of the perspectives were 1) Luna 2) The Giant Killer, and 3) “our” perspective (that of someone seeking to rescue someone from Bedlam). We had done another divination to ask if these were the correct perspectives and the answer we got back was “close but not correct”. I’m not sure if that’s indicative of the 4th perspective or just a question of interpretation. Nero, if you could perhaps clarify how you arrived at those perspectives (ie, was it some sort of symbolism or those specific names), that might help clarify it a bit.

-Need to find out the proper time we need to have someone awaken CuCullain. Cain says ASAP, not sure that Pyr’s plans for the contest are or when it would take place.
There may not be a specific time (ie, it might not be May 1st or the spring solstice), in which case we’re looking at “soon” or a “few month time” or maybe even asking - “how long can we wait to summon him” or “”what are the ramification of waiting”. Is this event dependent and if that a fair question to ask marr? If it's the basis for FoC, then we’re probably not going to be able to do it before then.
-Is Bouquet actually in Bedlam, or on the cusp of it likes Cain says. No real point in going to Bedlam if she’s not there!
-What was the point of contacting the Mage of Chimeron? Nero initial Vision was “How can we create sanctuary to protect Bouquet from the shockwave release when Wayland’s orb got opened?” - that doesn’t seem relevant any longer, especially if it was more of a “grenade” (affecting those Fae immediately nearby), than something that would spread out and eventually kill all Fae. The Staff of the Planes might still be used to get to Bedlam if we need to go there- what does the Staff of Planes do?

Three basic area we need question answered on:
Reviving CuCullain, which would, in theory restore the Fae courts to what they were originally- killing the false king Oberon and dissolving the courts?
Dealing with Wayland- is Cucullain going to be able to take him out? Or is he going to be vulnerable to the effect of Wayland blades/magic? Do we need to deal with Wayland separately? First?
Getting Bonquet back- obviously entwined with the other two to a degree, but do we need to get rid for Wayland before we bring her back? Need to know where she is, how to retrieve her, and figure out the timing/relationship with the other two issues.

Did some reviewing of the Message and gathering the other information last night and came up with the following conclusions:
It look like the Mage of Chimeron is still a valid path to search down. I'm not sure if it was dropped or the effect ground to a halt or what. I’ve asked the fold who were working in it previously to find out what was found out or where or why it stopped. Last info I had was that Anton was likely the Mage, that there were item he had that supposedly opened up gates and such, and that some of those items may have ended up in people’s hands after the Feast of Chimeron where his will was read. I’ll wait a couple of day to hear back and then will like send a general missive asking if anyone knows of any items that got taken away from that feast. I think, however, that we were previously told we needed to find the actual Mage of Chimeron because of his ability/knowledge about creating demi-planes, and not to find his stuff.
Any expedition into Bedlam, if we find a way there, is likely to be very dangerous. Not that it will stop anyone from going, but it should be clear that the plan of simple going their, finding Bouquet, and breaking out, is a bad idea. There is apparently a lot more knowledge we should gather before attempting a “rescue” mission.
On the same note, even if we get in, it may not be possible to return Bouquet to us. We may only be able to return her to the cycle. While this is obviously not the preferred ending most us are hoping for. I bring it up as a harsh reality we might have to face. I’m not giving up hope nor suggesting we settle for this, only that we recognize the possibility.
Getting confirmation about how Bedlam came into being or why it did would be helpful. There would seem to be some indication that it is the result of the first Purging, leading to speculation that the re-emergence of CuCullain and /or Wayland’s final plan might result in another “purging”.
Wayland magic- may not be a surprise to you but just a clarification that using any Wayland magic- from Wayland blades to Fey Missiles to other regional magicks, will only strengthen Wayland’s power and his efforts and present a further threat to Fae and the Realms. I believe we should endeavor to stop people from using it when possible. I’m not suggesting whaking a fellow heroes of the Realms who don’t see the light, but a least making sure they’re not still using it out of ignorance.

Here is the short version of how this began:
A runic stella (pillar) was activated in Rhiassa, by read by Randal the Light. It produced an egg. The egg was opened by Randal, and a journal belonging to Weyland fell out. Soon after, a shock wave followed that obliterated Bouquet’s soul. Besides Randal and Bouquet, Josua and BrightHammer were present
It seem to be agreed that Bouquet’s soul was not actually obliterated, but sent to a place called Bedlam.

Additional Information From Nero 1/7/05
It might help to add that a number of stellae were sent to Rhiassa at the same time. Apparently, there where part of a plan by Oberon to invade the Realms to expand this forces. We needed to deactivate all the stellae in a series of puzzles, in order to expel Oberon’s forces and stop Rhiassa (and all present) from becoming Fae and being controlled by Oberon.
BrightHammer and Bouquet were investigating the Runic stellae. They saw the futhark runes written on them. Randal the Light came along, and as they tried to warn him not to read them out loud, he did so. Reading the runes was all it took to activate the runic stellate and release the egg.
Later, the group considered whether to open the egg. The sensed the presence of something to do with the Wayland, but apparently did not suspect any danger. Randal led them to the castle at Rhiassa to open it, so any danger could be contained.
We have seen stellae like this before. At least year's Feast of Chimeron, we ventured into Fae. We were almost tricked into reading all four stellae, but King Pyr, under the advice of advisors, pulled out, and destroyed some of the stellae. We had realized it was trick by Puck (or encouraged by him) that would be dangerous to all of Fae.
