My father's wish was to see the Church restored, but for the most part not many hearkened to his call. Perhaps they were worried about the Church being a front for another Empire (which was still on the lips of many at that time). And while there were many in the Paradisian lands that still called on an individual Lady in their own small ways, not too many heroes carried the word forth. Many rumors began to spring up about this 'chaotic religion', and a few stayed true until it was no longer fit to do so (note Sir Elwick, former champion of Tymora, now attempting to become a Paladin of Tana Torne, 1008 M.R.). Many things happened on the sidelines to waylay the Church from ever truly growing stronger, but three Goddesses of the group: Luna, Tymora, and Diskordia, were not content with fading away due to lack of followers and re-doubled their efforts. Luna is still holding strong today, and Tymora has a strong following in both Paradise and the lands of Illinar. Diskordia tends to be more popular with younger believers, and those who desire more mirth and humor (be it dark or light) in their every-day lives. Xaos, keeping true to Her own agenda, did nothing but waited patiently. Eris, without feeling a need for followers, delighted in the war and strife that was running rampant across the Realms. She also had a faithful High Priestess that spread her word wherever she would go, the Lady Quazar. With the re-building of Paradise (from the recent Illinarian sacking) coming along slowly, the Church is calling out for assistance once more. - Sir Aberes of Paradise, the twenty-third day of Xaos' Holy Month, 1008 M.R. | |
