Thoughts on the ProphesyHaving both thought this over and discussed this with Corean, below are the thoughts we've compiled. It's a long page."These are the next, from a time before and a time past. I know now, I know everything. I have seen both futures, and seen both pasts." Most likely this is referring to the Time Quake. The world's history was shaken hard. From what I've heard, it hit that plane harder than most. "We are and we are not, we cannot sing, we cannot dance. Yet the worlds are the same and the way is the same." Singing and dancing is reference to the natural magics of the land. Aisling has said that they do not dance or sing the way her people taught them years ago. That there are few who do so properly. I believe the reference to the way and worlds being the same is much like ley lines; those paths haven't changed, it's those who would use it that have. "It is the Strangers, those from beyond the stars. They have done it all, to try and destroy us." Which is true. The reason the magic is corrupted is the influence of the Strangers. "They trick us and the Two that are One have lost sight of the One who is Two. And so, here, I will bring to you the first, and the last." The Two that are One could be a reference to how Ari and Deidre are separate, yet worshipers believe they are the same. The One who is Two...well. To be honest, this could also be flipped. The plane is torn between those banished to the Outlands and those who are not...and they have lost sight of the way? It's still unclear, and too many possible meanings. Carrick, during the session where he gave me this information, also told me that scholars believe that this is reference to the Royal Line. I'm not so certain on that. "Time is now impossible. I cannot tell you from the mixture, no. I can, however, see the trend. The One who is two is forever now, and the Strangers move on swift wings. Apollo is close but is not the fear, no. No one knows the total, where or when. I have, I have, have seen her, the final one. She is known as Ananke. I think my life has led to this. I was de-voted, but I fear she was the one. But I trust in the Great Lady." Apollo and Ananke are two of the Strangers. See my section on them for more information. "Once the Gates are open, the seas shall flood and the blood will flow. All the worlds shall begin and end. And it all falls into when they return, the Two as One. For they are here and they are not. So that it is understood, and so that it is done, and the Barrows will remain buried and the Cauldron will be kept safe, so do I give you the final." The Gates, I believe, are the ones of Hunkara. The Barrows are the Barrows Down. It's not what it seems. The Cauldron, I've found where it lies. "Ten shall begin the battle’s call / While nine will succumb the Chosen’s call / Eight shall weight to straight the Gate / And Seven lost, dark and late. / The chosen and six shall stand at the end. / Five alive to fall and dive / Left for dead, the Hidden fled / Three to prepare the worlds in strife / In Order, two in flight for life / Defeat the One and all is done." This is still...uncertain. Some parts make sense ("Left for dead, the Hidden fled", "Three to prepare the worlds in strife") but not everything. I feel as though this will come to light...eventually. "The Chosen will be of the Three, the one who She will finally speak to, or speak to at least, and shall be the mouth she can-not be to lead her people, to defeat the stars, or even to find the hidden tower, the broken Cauldron, or the cities below." We're not sure who this Chosen is, or who the Three this line means, but Olan believes this to be me. From what I've gathered, Chosen is the same as an Avatar. It doesn't help Deidre has spoken to and through me. As for the rest...I don't know about a hidden tower, but the Cauldron I think is the same. The cities below might be a reference to the Barrows. "I cannot force the truth on these Harkons or Sheshawnii, but the Dunnwich knight must know the score. All will step within the prophesy shall feel the Storms of the Dream, to the end of the real. They do not understand, nor will they. They cannot, without knowing Ananke. And if you know Her, your will lose your sanity. As I have. Lady Help me. Or better, Help them all." Harkons, Sheshawnii...it's kind of clear who these mean. The Dunnwich knight is likely Corean. She's mentioned that she is from Dunnwich, and her promise is akin to a vow given by a knight. The Storms of Dreams is Aisling. |
