Random NotesStory delivered to Lorher by Araka, the valiant gnoll, from the seeress of the Woods.Story by Carrie Dolph Lilandra Saveck Naklethali… or Lil for short, scampered madly underbrush. She knew she heard something. She tried to still her madly beating heart, or at least slow it down some belatedly, she covered the light spell her master had given her hoping that whatever was following her hadn’t seen the thing. Shortly, a large humanish shape emerged out of the woods, crouched, and snuffed the ground like a large misshapen dog. Lil saw it sported a crossbow, leather armor and a short sword. There was a dagger in it’s brown furred hand. Tuffed doglike ear and a scruff horsish mane topped it’s ugly were-wolfish fare. A gnoll, thought Lil glumly, If it caught her scent she’d be dog food- her missives never reaching their targets. The creature looked up sharply at the sound of movement off to Lil’s right. Six more gnolls appeared, each emblazoned with the cured pattern of the Nameless One. All bore polearms, as was normal for their kind (Lil wondered why the first did not) and they promptly leveled them at the first. Snarling angrily in their direction, the long gnoll throw the dagger at the leader, and whether through luck, skill, or divine aid, managed to land it in the leader's eye. Howling in rage, pain and death, the lead gnoll arced backward, polearm still clutched in its craggy claws, accidentally swiping a surprised companion on his way down, leaving a second gnoll on the ground- though the second just had the wind knocked out of him. Without pausing to gloat over his success as most of his foul mannered kind would, the lone gnoll whisped his crossbow out and fired- barely pausing to aim. Unerringly, the shaft sped into the chest of the third gnoll. Unfortunately it just bounced off the harden chest plate. The five remaining gnolls (The flatted one having recovered quickly) tired to close the gap between themselves and the long gnoll. Lil decided it was time to leave, not wanting to witness the probable slaught of the valient gnoll, when another figure appeared out of the wood- a human dressed in a blue tunic, carrying a shield with a sigil of magic, music, and warefare painted to its front, snuck up being the four gnolls and gutted two before they knew that he was there, while the valiant gnoll killed his second with his second crossbow shot (wisely opting to shoot this one in its unguarded snout.) The last two gnolls attempted to flee teh blue clad warrior and the valiant gnoll, only to be stopped by a… thing. The beast was huge, broad shouldered, with tusks on either side of it’s bull -like muzzle and time horns protruding from the top of it’s leathered skinned head. The gnolls attempted to skewer the creature with their polearms, only to find the creature’s hide too tough to injure. They just managed to tick it off. Enraged, the beast ripped them apart with his tusks and claws. Dripping gore the beast looked up at the blue-clad warrior and wagged its long tail and said simply, “Stor-iee Now??” The warrior answered the beast in a language that Lil didn’t understand, but she assumed it was an affirmative- since the beast didn’t tear the black-haired fellow apart. Dampyl Potions: Their were once, and possibly still are, potions in the realms that restore a mage’s or healers spell use. One potion was destroyed. The drawbacks are, after one use you are a Thrall. After three uses you become Dampyl (undead). It is unknow weather the potion continues to work for a vampire. If they can, and it has no further harmful side effects, and a vampire gets a hold of this potion, they would have unlimited spell use. Dampyl: Are UNDEAD. The leader of the group within the realms is Tir O’Shean. Dampyl can create new Dampyl and thralls without the use of the cursed potions, presumably through the use of their blood. It is unknown how much free will these creatures have. Blood Magic: The Dampyl use their blood do do magic such as healing. This means the recipient of their healing doets a dose of their blood. After three doess the recipient become a thrall. Thought the Dampyl within the Realms have not to my knowledge created Thralls, they have created more Damply, and they have started people on their way to being thralls, who later become thralls becaue of Cear Muigier Vampires. Thralls: are slaves of the Dampyl. Thralls appear to act freely with the following exceptions: They are enchanted being and cannon cross circle of protection and possibly protected from undead. Each Dampyl can give each Thrall One command which they must obey. Thralls like being thralls and protect their Thrallness and Dampyl kind in general. They desire to become full Dampyl They will not admit any of this. Cure: Made only by Queen Meg. She may be a Thrall and so the cure does not work. It is possible the time that it has not worked have been cause by Dampyl using D.I.s to mess it up. The Cure would free thralls and possibly cure Dampyl. Another way to cure them is when they are dead cast two raise dead spells on them simultaneously. Situation: If the cure no longer works because Meg is a thrall then action must be taken immediately. The cure should be fixed. If that fails kill them. Background: Tir O’Shean claims to be a CearMugier outlaw and a hunter of blood magic for hundreds of years. He is Knight commander of the knights of the Realms, it is possible that Meg beign a thrall is a rumor is which case the threat is not immediate. They did raise Topknot after he tried to assassinate them, because they understood his concern. This leads me to believe they are innocent. Dampyl: Tir O’Shean, Makta, Jeyana, Donoven, Lord Byron, (Stuart??) “Poem of Loria Light” The dawn, a knight a fiery steed A shield a land a past misdeed Off to a shrine on tourny due, This is man hart strong sad and true Off in the dewey morning light, His banner aloft, so high so bright, The sun glinting on his coat of mail His face a mask of strength, but pale. The Dragon Queen Tetch had some disturbing visions that I think relate to reality. Vision #1: Standing in a grassy field. All the grass is dead. All the bugs in the grass are dead. Ahead, past a forest of dead trees is a citadel. It is obsidian black. A pentagram appears in teh sky over the citadel. The citadel vanished, so does the pentagram. Vision #2: Queen Meg had horns and demon wings. SHe had disemboweled seven people who’s corpses are on top of a scaffold pedestal each on a pentagram. They were Jarrod, Blade, Pyr, Randeel, Decion, and two others I can’t remember. People try to retrieve their bodies- Meg cuts them down. Background: Last time the Dragon Queen tired to move her citadel to our realm she was going to use the soul of Pyr Thalax, but Pyr was raise by Tetch, thus thwarting her plans. The Dragon Queen has six sister and seven brothers. One of her sister, the sister of wisdom, used to keep her in line. But now the Dragon Queen has banished her wise sister to the Astral Plane and given her power to the Scarlet Knight is currently courting Meg. The Scarlet Knight has a sword (I thing the sword can free the Dragon Sister. I don’t remember) The Dragon Queen needs the power sources of the Astral space to move her citadel. (I don’t know what will happen to Astal space when they are gone.) We must go to the umbra get the sources of power before the Dragon Queen. Get the swords from the scarlet Knight, free the Dragon Sister. Get her here power back from the Scarlet Knight, and let her deal with the Dragon Queen. |
