"All hail the mighty Ran! He whose Sword struck the spark of creation, and ignited the blaze that is life! May He tend the fire He has built, so that His people shall live long and prosperous lives!" - The Book of Ran The mighty dragon god who was the exclusive object of worship by the Kingdom of Ranterra. Viewed as nearly omnipotent by his followers, they feared little the impending doom of Entropy, but when Ran's last avatar, the God-King Do'gran, was consumed by Entropy, there was little they could do. By the end his desperate worshippers were willing to commit heinous acts in his name, but there was once a time when they followed more benevolent teachings of Ran. It is unknown the extent of his power outside of what his followers believed - what was exaggerated, and what was fact. His fate, too, is unknown - did he fall to Entropy with his avatar, or survive until the end? Or maybe, he had long been dead already? Regardless, his effect on his people was immense, and he will forever be remembered as their Progenitor and God. Ran has not directly manifested in Requiem it seems, unlike some of the other gods from their pantheon. However, he does have two living worshippers, which gives him the possibility of return. |
