Myria's Fate

A scene surrounds you, as if you are really there.

The Wraiths are locked in a lopsided battle against a hearty but losing band of warriors. The humans' fur-and-hide coverings barely count as armor, and they don't possess the full scale of magic or weapons needed to drive off the Wraiths.

Then onto the field runs a shining figure in silver and white, armor sparkling, winged helm aglow. With a battle cry of light and divinity, she cuts into the Wraiths, felling them one by one, returning to those who rise from their death or are raised to strike again.

The Demon Prince turns from cutting down yet another mortal, shouts to the shade wielding a mace, and points at the holy avenger.

The Wraith, as commanded, throws itself at the shining winged warrior, its magic barely holding, its mace striking true.

The Valkyrie surges forth into a battle lock with the Wraith, appearing almost as an embrace.

There is a flash of sparkling light, wreathed in black smoky tendrils, then both figures are gone.

The entire field - Wraiths and humans alike, stare gaping at the empty space, from which emanates a trailing sound, like the echo of a mortal's final scream.
