Rules and Laws

Author: Elder Larry Sanders

There aren't many formal laws in Sanctuary, though there are many customs and traditions you'll learn over time.

The biggest rule is to respect the villagers and spirits. Many of these people have been through massive trauma and are in the process of healing. They deserve your respect and kindness as they rebuild their lives. Hurting them is an attack on Sanctuary itself and will be treated as such.

Undead: being undead is not illegal in Sanctuary. There are even some undead villagers. That said. The Guardian of Nature has a tendency to provide healing and undead don't always stay undead. If you are undead and wish to stay undead within Sanctuary, please state you intention with the Elder of Nature so he can ensure his magics don't affect you. That said, turning people or spirits undead without consent and free will goes against the first rule, and you will have to answer to the Guardian of Soul.

Gods and other beings: We bring our faith with us when we travel. That said. Sanctuary is a plane whose patrons are good in nature. Deities and other beings who are evil are unable to reach you in Sanctuary. Magics that may be drawn through these beings will instead go through the Guardian of Magic. Neutral and good aligned deities should have no issues getting through, assuming they have no intention of harming citizens.
