Amawar Beseeches the SentinelsAmawar gets up a basic seance ritual with a candle and a timer."Great spirits of beyond hear my cry. Hear my call. I call to those entities known as the Sentinels. Earlier today I shared a portion of my power with you. I hope that you might answer my call so that we may be properly introduced. Amawar flips the timer, she gets the same sensation of being watched that you felt during Raindrop's ritual, and she hears a calm, confident and somewhat detached voice. "We have been watching, and now we listen." Amawar bows her head. "Greetings. I am Amawar Truehammer. I aided in the ritual earlier during which you spoke to my friend Kovaks. "I wish to dedicate myself to the fight against Nemesis. To see the demon lord defeated and his wraiths freed if possible. I beseech you to look in my heart, mind, and soul to test me if you wish. Amawar bows her head. "We do not test. We know your intentions are pure. You are true of heart as is the champion your people have twice freed. For that, we interfere, as is not our custom. What knowledge do you seek? "I did not call upon you all for knowledge but hoped I could introduce myself. However, if you are willing to aid me in my own research I could use some protection. Please take these motes of power as an offering. Amawar will pull all of her remaining magic out of herself to empower her intervention and then send it to the Sentinel. The hourglass falls on its side, unspent. "What do you know of us already, that you have reached for us now twice over and with magics that suggest desperation? Amawar frowns. "I know that you are mostly watchers who wish to keep the threat at bay. You have a champion named Karavynn who is destined to destroy this great evil. But I won't lie and say that today was the first day I had heard of you. But my predecessor, my last incarnation, fought the wraiths for years with little success. As they have returned I simply recognize the threat they pose and wish to see the wraiths and their master undone. "She was indeed empowered to defeat darkness, and it was the Demon Prince that took her from us. Then, we watched as it happened. Now, we hear the summons of your people, to face the same threat that held our child captive, first as servant, then as prisoner. But with the wish that the servants of darkness be redeemed rather than destroyed. Amawar nods. "I wish to ensure that your Champion, your child, and those of us of the Realms are successful in seeing the end of this threat. It has lingered for too many years, and unfortunately too much information about this enemy has been lost to time and bad memories. I fear that I may have been one of a few people who actively recognized the wraiths when they arrived. If you would, I would like to bear your symbol. Amawar holds out the three necklaces of Dionin, Aurora and Justari. "These I wear out of obligation. These three gods fought for my soul when it was reforged and all tried to claim pieces. All have a say in the direction. But -I- wish to wear your symbol out of respect and homage. If you would let me I shall strive to ensure that you and your champion are never forgotten again. She bows her head again. "We seek to know the current status of the wraiths and the fight against the great enemy. If you would shield me I would like to seek this knowledge with my own divination skill. Let me be your eyes and ears. Let me be your voice. Let me be your servant. "We have interest in observing those with power who engage in the struggle of light against dark. The hourglass rights itself and continues flowing. "We have ascribed ourselves no symbol. If you are here to join and perpetuate Karavynn's legacy, know that since she was a small yet already devoted child, she believed she could see us through any one of her collection of spy glasses, so much so that they became a symbol of her faith in the orchestrating of her freedom. "As to your next endeavor for knowledge, when these sands expire, we will continue watching as you cast your magics, and if darkness seizes you, we will take action. Amawar nods and smiles. "Then I will seek out a spy glass to add to my possessions. Thank you for all of your help thus far and I will seek to bring strength to the light against this great darkness. Is there anything you would ask of me? Any questions or actions that need doing? "Very well.' The sands have nearly run out. "As to actions, we require nothing, but it would please us were our Divine weapon not lost to darkness so quickly as it was the first time it lay in your heroes' hands. "I unfortunately do not have any power of persuasion over those that carry the blade, but I will do my best to ensure that it does not fall into the hands of darkness. "We will be watching. Amawar smiles. The sands expire. |
