Blank Eyes
Date: unknown by Dameon Midnight, Killer Bard of Rathkeale A dawn to blank eyes, the sun magnified A score solom masks to greet the light sky But no breath does flutter, none reach for the sea Says the lord of the dead, we await… A soft stirring heart, no blood does it hold Not cold but instead heated silver and coal But what can it buy, save memories of knowing Over silence of soft crashing waves in its wake… And settle swords to dead hands, not man but was-men And was meant to hold dread now only holds swords And the heavy lead hand that dares the harpoon Still grasps at the air as if ready to throw What masts do not wind, only sing in the sun And even birds will not sing, and songs cannot be sung For sunken are voices, young yet undone And silence of soft crashing waves in their wake… Still rolling faces, still facing the easts And still waiting for words that will give them release But wait, sun still shallow, no pleasing, no will For false will is least in face of what pleases Several seven league stares, in seven seas air Severed heirs, breath undone in oath solom swears There was repaired the breeze that wont breathe Over silence of soft crashing waves in their wake… Though beats no heart, still pulses heart of hearts Of soul rebound again to start And wait and watch until to resound And part the ways the of body and soul Set sun, set light, twilight begun And what was done is not undone But wait with light, and break, decay Over silence of soft crashing waves in their wake… Now Dusk to blank eyes, the dark on all sides A score solom masks now settle for night But no breath does flutter, none reach for the sea Says the lord of the dead, we await… |
